Calvary Chapel Anaheim Hills (CCAH)
The Calvary Chapel Church -- the religious Corporation legally executed in the State of California on January 17, 2003 as "CHRISTIAN CHARACTER BUILDER (CALVARY CHAPEL OF ANAHEIM HILLS), INC.," dba Calvary Chapel Anaheim Hills (CCAH) -- has been formed as a fellowship of believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our supreme desire is to know Christ and be conformed into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations as such, only their over-emphasis of doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the body of Christ rather than to the profit of all the body of Christ on the earth. We believe that the only true basis of Christian fellowship is His love(Agape), which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians. In general, we set forth the faith statement in the light of (1) Worship & (2) Fundamental Beliefs.
(1) WORSHIP
We Believe: worship of God should be Exalting Him. Therefore: We come into the presence of the holy, almighty, and living God, filled with awe, wonder, and repentance.
We Believe: worship of God should be Spiritual. Therefore: We remain flexible and yielded to the Holy Spirit to direct our worship.
We Believe: worship of God should be Inspirational. Therefore: We give a great place to music in our worship.
We Believe: worship of God should be Intelligent. Therefore: Our services are designed with great emphasis upon teaching of the Word of God that He might instruct us how He should be worshipped.
We Believe: worship of God is Fruitful. Therefore: We look for His Love in our lives as the supreme manifestation that we have truly been worshipping Him.
(2) FUNDAMENTAL BELIEFS
We Believe: the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God and inerrant in the original writings.
We Believe: there is one God, eternally & equally existent in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We Believe: in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His personal return in power and glory.
We Believe: in the terms of the Apostles' Creed, which are within the zone of authoritative Word of God, as expressing fundamental facts of Christian faith.
We Believe: the lost and sinful person must be saved and person’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
We Believe: in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.
We Believe: two ordinances of both Baptism and the Lord's Supper given to the Church by Christ, through water baptism by immersion and communion open to all believers.
We Believe: in the laying hands on persons as mere methodology of prayer for acknowledgment of ordained pastors, elders, & deacons, for healing, for water baptism, for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, or for receiving gifts of the Spirit.
We Believe: in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and in "one church(Eklesia) on the earth," the living spiritual body, of which Christ is the Head and all regenerated persons are members(Eph 1:22-23), as long as a local church or believer is not against "the principles of the doctrine of Christ"(Heb 6:1).
We Believe: in the resurrection of both the saved and the unsaved; they who are saved unto the resurrection of life and they who are unsaved unto the resurrection of damnation.
We Believe: in the rapture ("... caught up together... to meet the Lord in the air..." 1 Thes 4:17) of the Church, which will be pre-tribulation, and in the pre-millennial return of Christ.
